With New York’s Whisky Fest having been held on Shabbat this year, the Jewish Whisky Company and Single Cask Nation have organised their own festival for those who may have missed it – for religious or other reasons!

The first annual charitable Whisky Jewbilee takes place on Thursday 25 October and offers the chance to taste some of the finest whiskies on offer from Scotland, Ireland, and America.

Whisky-makers and distillers signed up to appear include: Alistair Walker of BenRiach; Ronnie Cox of Glenrothes: and Corsair Distilling of Nashville (this year’s Craft Distiller of Year at the Icons of Whisky America).

Other exhibitors will include likes of Isle of Arran, Balcones Distilling, Benromach, FEW Spirits, GlenDronach, Highland Park, Hudson Real American Whiskeys, Kilchoman, Koval, Slieve Foy, Smokehead and Smooth Ambler… with more still to be announced.
Kosher catering by Ari White of Gemstone Catering, food under Star-K, will also be available.

Whisky Jewbilee 2012 is on Thursday, October 25, 2012, from 7:00pm-10:00pm, at the West Side Institutional Synagogue, 120 West 76th Street, New York. Tickets are $75.00 per head, available from whisky-jewbilee-2012.ticketleap.com/whisky-jewbilee-2012/.

A portion of all proceeds from the evening will be donated to charity.
