Deanston Distillery, near Stirling, opened its new visitor centre to the general public last month.
The distillery, which features in Ken Loach’s new film ‘The Angel’s Share’, hopes to attract 30,000 visitors to its £8-a-head tours during the tourist season.
Local newspaper, The Stirling Observer, quoted centre manager Peter Semple as saying: “The idea is to have people into the distillery to see how we make our whisky.
“Everything we do here is hand-crafted. There are no computers at all. We became a distillery back in 1966 and all of our pot stills and fermentation tanks are all as they were.”
