Japanese distillers Suntory have released a new malt whisky which retails at one million yen (£8,000).
The 50 year old Yamazaki Single Malt Whisky will go on sale in high end Japanese stores from 13 December, reports the Japan Times.
The whisky has a very limited release, with only 150 bottles produced.
When the distiller has produced a 50 year old in the past – in 2005 and 2007 – the 50 bottle release sold out immediately.
The Yamazaki distillery was Japan’s first whisky distillery, opening in 1923, and produces Japan’s biggest selling single malt whisky.
