More details are beginning to emerge of what is happening at this year’s Whisky Exchange Whisky Show in London on the weekend of 6-7 October.

Among the masterclasses, visitors to the show are being invited to partake of some Rare and Unusual Islay Classics with Mario Groteklaes, of Belgian distributor and bottler The Nectar.

According to the show’s website, the Masterclass includes Islay malts which are not only a little bit unusual, but also rarely seen at tastings (hence the name). Samples on the night include: Bruichladdich 15yo (White Label); Ardbeg Kildalton 1980; Lagavulin 1979 Distillers Edition; Laphroaig 1974; and Signatory Port Ellen 10yo ‘Scottish Wildlife’.

The masterclass takes place on the Sunday (7 October) and tickets are £65 per head. You will also need a day or weekend ticket for the show itself to attend.
