A bottle of Dalmore whisky has gone on sale at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport for a cool one-quarter million euros.

The Dalmore Brilliance Vintage 1926 is available from retailer Finest Spirits and Cigars in the Ditch airport’s revamped departure lounge 3, retailing at €250,000 excluding VAT.

Only one bottle has ever been made – a hand-blown crystal decanter decorated with silver and platinum, and topped with a 1.83 carat diamond stopper.

Included as part of the asking price, jeweller’s Gassan will create a piece of unique jewelery from the stopper for the owner once (if?) the whisky is finished.

The whisky inside is a marriage of Dalmore malts from 1868, 1878 and 1926, representing some of the oldest whiskies ever released in retail.
