Online specialist Master of Malt has released a new range of single malt whiskies under their new ‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ label, with expressions from Ardbeg, Macallan, Caperdonich, and Port Ellen among their first releases.
Each 50cl bottle comes with a “whimsical” label, reflecting Master of Malt’s idiosyncratic style, and has been hand-dipped with a black wax seal.
Each bottling comes from a hand selected small batch and will be released in limited quantities, with future bottlings likely to vary from batch to batch in terms of flavour and style. No age statement is given on the whiskies.
According to their press release, “by releasing a no-age-statement whisky, That Boutique-y Whisky Company aims to focus whisky enthusiasts on the flavour of each bottling rather than the age”.
The first bottlings include: Ardbeg – Batch 1 (£54.95, limited to 293 bottles), Macallan – Batch 1
(£48.95, 312 bottles), Caperdonich – Batch 1 (£99.95 – 36 bottles) and Port Ellen – Batch 1(at £229.95, with only 25 bottles released).
All of the whiskies are available from their website at www.masterofmalt.com/distilleries/. Although selected and bottled by Master of Malt, in an attempt to get other specialists to carry the range they do not carry the company’s name anywhere on the bottle.
