The Scotch Malt Whisky Society of America has released the Fall schedule for their Single Malt and Scotch Whisky Extravaganza.
Unlike other major whisky shows in the States, the Extravaganza tends to be lower key and more informal, with fewer exhibitors and whiskies to try but more time to enjoy chatting with the distillers and brand ambassadors present, according to thecasks.com whisky blog.
In addition, of course, the SMWS event allows members and non-members alike to try a selection of the Society’s famous range of single cask bottlings which are, generally, unavailable elsewhere.
In October the Extravanagza is in Boston on the 11th, Chicago on the 18th and Washington, DC on the 30th. The following moth’s stops include Philadelphia (1st) LA and San Francisco (9th and 14th, respectively) and Seattle on 16 November. The final stop of the year is at Fort Lauderdale on 6 December.
