Luxury holidays supplier Connoisseurs Scotland has been promoting two of its member properties as “ideal for those on the Whisky Trail”, says a report.

Travel site travelpulse.com carried details of the two luxury Speyside hotels – which they claim are “ideal as a base when exploring the region’s whisky distilleries and heritage”.

The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa is just off the 68-mile Malt Whisky Trail which takes in seven distilleries including Benromach, Glen Moray and Chivas Regal’s Strathisla.

Guests at the Marcliffe can choose from a selection of 100 malt whiskies and 400 fine wines in their bar and restaurant and the hotel is running reduced prices of £199 to £229 per room, including full Scottish breakfast, throughout the rest of the year.

The award winning Rocpool Reserve Hotel near Inverness and its Chez Roux Restaurant is within an hour of four famous distilleries – Tomatin, Glen Ord, Dalmore and Glenmorangie. Room rates run from £185 to £395 until the end of the year.

For more information on both hotels, and others in the Connoisseurs Scotland table, can be found on www.luxuryscotland.co.uk.
