Whisky and outdoor gifts site, the Green Welly Stop, is taking pre-orders now on the last of the 30 Year Old Port Ellen from Ian Macleod Distillers.
The final cask in the bottler’s warehouse, cask #1518, is being bottled round about now, with the store expecting to take delivery by the end of the month.
With only 300 bottles worldwide, this is a chance to get the very last ever release of Port Ellen by Ian Macleod.
The Port Ellen distillery on Islay was closed in 1983 and now lies partially demolished, although the maltings are still used by most of the island’s distillers.
Port Ellen 1982 30 Year Old Chieftain’s Cask No #1518, is bottled at 50.1% abv and available for £450 from www.thegreenwellystop.co.uk/whiskyshop/port-ellen/.
