Dear children, thank you for the lovely socks last year and the year before, perhaps you could consider buying me tickets for the Spirit of Scotland: Distilled event that go on sale 9th of June. Lots of love, Dad.

Reminder: Father’s Day is 18th of June.

Spirit of Speyside: Distilled takes place from September 1-2 and brings together some of the biggest names in Scotch whisky under one roof and on their own doorstep.

Speyside is the beating heart of Scotland’s whisky industry: the region is home to over half of all the nation’s Scotch distilleries and dozens of globally recognised brands.

The area is known as Scotland’s secret larder due to the high quality of its food and drink, and a host of food producers, gin distillers and breweries will also be attending the event at Elgin Town Hall, offering the chance to sample their products.

Event chairman James Campbell says, “Spirit of Speyside: Distilled is the ultimate event for any dad who enjoys quality food and drink. He’ll be able to meet the people who are involved in producing Speyside’s whisky, and there will be the opportunity to sample drams from many different distilleries.

“Whether you want to spend some quality one-on-one time with dad or encourage him to have some time away with his friends, vouchers for Spirit of Speyside: Distilled will be a never-forgotten gift. He’ll have a real struggle trying to decide which drams he wants to try from the dozens on offer.”

The event is split into four different sessions taking place from 1-5pm and from 6-10pm each day. In addition to the large number of food and drink exhibitors, there will be the chance to learn more about Scotland’s national drink at a series of masterclasses run by key individuals from the Scotch whisky industry.

Tickets for each session cost £20 and include vouchers for six 10ml tasting samples of whisky, gin or tasting measures of beer, a Glencairn crystal nosing and tasting glass and a lanyard. Tokens, costing £1, will be available at the event and these can be used to taste an extensive range of additional drams.

Masterclasses cost £15 each. Further details of the events, and gift vouchers, are available on the website

Distilled is a sister event of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, which has been running for almost 20 years.
