The Famous Grouse is attempting to get into the Guinness Book of Records with the largest bottle of whisky, and win the record back from America’s Jack Daniels.

The current record bottle was a 184 litre monster filled with the famous Tennessee whiskey and the good folk at Grouse plan to top that with a 200 litre bottle to be filled at The Famous Grouse Experience next month.

Glen Gribbon, Director ofThe Famous Grouse commented: “We celebrate the brand birthday every year but wanted to go bigger and better than ever this summer. As Scotland’s favourite whisky we thought we’d have a crack at bringing this world record to the homeland of Scotch whisky.

“We hope people will come along on 12th August to help us celebrate. There will be plenty going on for all the family including a new whisky tour, live music, RSPB nature tours, treasure hunts and face painting. I’m confident visitors will also witness a new world record.”

Fans are able to bid, via online auction site Ebay, for the right to help bottle the record breaking whisky on Sunday 12 August, with all proceeds from the auction going to ABF The Soldier’s charity.

The winner will receive a VIP weekend package for two with a 2-night stay in luxury accommodation, VIP status at the brand’s birthday celebration, travel and a personalised bottle of The Famous Grouse. Bidding closes on 27 July at www.bit.ly/thefamousworldrecord.
