Islay Festival – Feis Ile 2019
The Islay Festival of Music and Malt is one of the most important dates in the calendar for whisky fans all around the World. The distilleries on the island and on neighbouring Jura, run open days throughout the week. The Festival is held in the last week of May every year. Nothing looks better than Jura with a dram in your hand!
Feis Ile 2019 will be held from Fri 24 May – Sat 1 June
The Feis Ile is the charitable organisation from which this now huge Festival of Music & Malt has evolved. The Voluntary Committee works collaboratively with the Distillery Community together with local Musicians and other interested people to showcase Islay.
- Look out for the fresh seafood van. The local scallops fried in butter are fantastic!
- Also worth looking out an Arbroath Smokie at Ardbeg Day. A Smokie in one hand and an Ardbeg in the other, what a way to spend the day!
- The short ferry trip to Jura is well worth the excursion. Just like the well-known pipe tune – you will be “Leaving Port Askaig”.
