Whiskey Live in Ireland

Whiskey distillers, including some of the drinks industry’s big hitters, are getting together to promote the spirit at “Whiskey Live”, an international exhibition in Dublin.

Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Grants and Cooley Distillery are among the names backing the event to be held in the Mansion House, Dublin on 14 May.

Visitors will be able to try Irish whiskeys matched with cheese, chocolate or coffee as well as take part in whiskey tasting masterclasses hosted by Irish distilleries.

Whiskey Live founder Damian Riley-Smith said in a statement,”We have brought Whiskey Live to so many corners of the world, from Sydney to Taipei, New York to Madrid, and feel the moment is right that Dublin should have its very own whiskey festival.”

Worldwide sales of Irish whiskey, are predicted to be 5 million cases in 2011 rising to 6.5 million cases by 2015 and is the fastest growing brown spirit in the world with global sales growing 10pc each year.
