Whiskies from global drinks giant Diageo picked up five of the Chairman’s Trophies on offer at the 2012 Ultimate Spirits Challenge in New York.
Bushmills 16-year-old single malt Irish whiskey and Caol Ila 12-year-old both received scores of 97 (on a 100 point scale) while Buchanan’s Special Reserve 18-year-old scored 95, with each receiving an Ultimate Recommendation award in addition to their trophies.
George Dickel Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey and Johnnie Walker Green Label also collected the Chairman’s Trophy in their respective categories.
In total, Diageo brands claimed 44 awards, 30 with scores of 90 or more including a further Chairman’s trophy for Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Extra Anejo.
