Over in the States, Dewar’s Scotch Whisky have come up with an upmarket twist to the brown paper bag used to take home spirits from the local store.

The whisky company commissioned top designer Thom Browne to design them a chic version of the ubiquitous bag.

Browne, best known for his minimalist design suits and accessories, has produced the designer bags in his signature grey, according to haute-living.com.

He told the site: “I wanted to bring my signature aesthetic to the project, elevating the traditional liquor store ‘brown’ bag into a fashionable tote that bears my label.”

The bags, branded with both Dewar’s and Browne’s labels, will come with bottles of Dewar’s 12-year-old expression in high-end stores in New York, Chicago and Miami.
