John Glaser, the whisky maker at Compass Box, will be personally launching the latest edition of his Flaming Heart Blended Malt next Thursday (13 September) at The Whisky Exchange in London’s Vinopolis.
John produces Flaming Heart every few years, once he has found what he considers the right combination of aged whiskies. The latest edition, the fourth, he describes as a big, smoky malt whisky with rich, concentrated vanilla and spice character – unlike any other whisky, due to the mix of distilleries and casks combined to create it.
As with previous editions, the Flaming Heart combines Highland single malt aged in new French oak, with a heavy-peated Islay single malt, but for the first time a portion of sherry-matured whisky has been added, providing added layers of richness and complexity.
As well as the new Flaming Heart edition, other Compass Box whiskies will be on hand along with foods had selected by John to complement and illuminate the individual flavour profiles of the Flaming Heart.
And after that, he invites you to join the team at The Hide Bar in Bermondsey Street for Flaming Heart and cocktails.
