Scotland’s national tourism agency, VisitScotland, has created an online list of events taking place this month to celebrate the national bard, Robert Burns.
Whisky fans are well catered for, with Burns-themed events at the likes of the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh and at The Famous Experience in rural Perthshire.
On 24 January visitors to the Scotch Whisky Experience can spend an entire day immersed in the world of whisky with their Burns Night course. A mixture of hands on activities and different learning styles make the day entertaining and fun as well as educational and informative. Costs £165 per head, including lunch.
The Famous Grouse Experience’s special Burns tours, on 28 – 29 January, include a tour of the distillery, a dram, a serving of haggis, neeps and tatties and a Burns recital, for £15 per person.
Links to both, as well as extensive listings of Burns Night events, can be found at surprise.visitscotland.com.
