Balvenie has announced that it has opened an online academy for whisky enthusiasts.
The project hopes to help provide information to help neophytes and aficionados gain a “greater depth of knowledge” about the production and enjoyment of malt whisky.
Sam Simmons, The Balvenie Ambassador and academic, told the official website that the academy will launch with over 35 film clips.
The academy hopes to provide a history of whisky, how it’s produced, the crafts and chemistry involved and features contributions from industry experts like Charles MacLean, Gavin D. Smith and David Stewart.
Sam said that the Balvenie Academy will continue to add content over the coming months and that it is their aim to become the “most thorough place online for a whisky education”.
Simmons said: “Working with filmmaker and whisky enthusiast Stuey Burnett we’ve created something that really doesn’t exist anywhere else online.
“It’s a fascinating series that’ll have whisky fans enthralled.”
The academy content is available through the Warehouse 24 website.
