This year’s Laphroaig Live, the Islay distiller’s annual online tasting and webcast, will come from the Munich Oktoberfest at the end of this month.

Distillery Manager John Campbell will be joined by Bernhard Schafer, of the German chapter of the Keepers of the Quaich, whisky marketplace supremo Pierre Thiebaut and Allied Distillers’ Master Blender Robert Hicks from the Bavarian beer festival, and will be joined by Laphroaig fans online around the globe.

The panel will be sampling Laphroaig 10 Year Old, Laphroaig Cáirdeas 2012, Laphroaig Quarter Cask, Ardmore Single Malt and Connemara Single Malt.

In addition, as it is Oktoberfest, they will be trying out some of the local beers – including a batch specially aged for the event in Laphroaig casks – and traditional food. Word is, even the suasages have been smoked using wooden staves from Laphroaig barrels.
