Over on their blog, The Whisky Exchange has announed new releases in the Single Malts of Scotland range from their sister company Speciality Drinks Ltd (SDL) in time for their London Whisky Show in less than eight weeks time.

Amongst the new bottlings are an “elegant” 26 year Old Bowmore from 1985, a 1989 Glen Keith 22 year old, 1993 Aultmore 20 Year Old and a 1989 Braes of Glenlivet.

The Bowmore 1985 is bottled from a single hogshead and is medium-bodied, with oak, fruit and some restrained floral notes, as opposed to the massive lavender sometimes exhibited by Bowmores of this era. The Glen Keith is described as having a light and grassy nose and a medium body with a warm and dry finish with hints of woodspice. Bottled at 50.&% abv it is available for £74.99 from http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-17334.aspx.

The Aultmore is a 20 year old from the 1992 vintage from Aultmore, most of the output from which goes into the Dewar’s blends, Matured in a bourbon barrel, it has a rich creamy vanilla character with lipsmacking oaky spices. £69.95 (52.9%) from www.thewhiskyexchange.com.
