Californian specialist retailer, K& L Wines have taken in stock of the new Glenglassaugh Revival single malt, the first bottling to be made from spirit distilled at the distillery since it re-opened in 2008.
A combination of first and refill cask styles, the Revival has been finished in 1st fill Oloroso sherry butts for 6 months. Non-chill filtered and natural colour, the distillers describe it as a Highland malt with “a coastal charm”.
According to K&L’s blog, the new release, which carries no age statement, has the same “earthy, resinous style” that can be found in Glenglassaugh releases of 25 years old and more.
They go on to describe it as “a youthful, but precocious whisky that will definitely please those diehards looking for a new distillery to fall in love with”.
American malt whisky fans can pick up the Glenglassaugh Revival for $59.99 from www.klwines.com.
