Although some people have been commenting on how few medals the Australian team seem to be collecting at London 2012, there are three more heading back down under courtesy of their whisky.
Sullivans Cove Tasmanian Single Malt collected the medals at the World Whisky Masters with Gold for their French Oak Cask and their American Oak Cask and Double Cask whiskies collecting the silvers.
According to judging panel chair Neil Ridley: “The highlights were undoubtedly Antipodean-themed, with Tasmania’s Sullivans Cove distillery creating the biggest surprise of the day with their consistently well produced range of single malts.”
Sullivans Cove’s Distiller, Patrick Maguire, said in a media release: “We have put some really hard work into making the best whisky that we can over the years, and it is such a good feeling to consistently come out on top on the world stage!”
All three expressions of Sullivans Cove will be imported into the USA from this September by Purple Valley Imports USA.
