Bunnahabhain release heavily peated malt in US

Bunnabhain has released its peated Toiteach single malt in the US market through distributors the International Beverage Company.

Toiteach (Scots Gaelic for ‘smoky’) represents a return to the distillery’s traditional roots of heavily peated malt, in contrast to its more delicate modern style.

The new single malt was released by the Islay whisky maker in the UK after the success of a number of peated Bunnahabhains by independent bottlers.

Toiteach is made using the same pure, natural water from the Margadale spring that has provided the distillery for over 100 years and is one of the most highly anticipated whisky releases by connoisseurs and collectors in the United States, according to the distiller’s press release.

Toiteach is a very small production, with limited availability and, as with all Bunnahabhain Single Malt Whisky, is un-chill filtered, and contains no added colouring.
