Islay distiller Bowmore has released a new 46 year old single malt, matured in fino sherry casks.
The 1964 Fino cask release was unveiled at an exclusive event at the end of last month by brand ambassador Gordon Dundas, reports the Caskstrength whisky blog.
The whisky comes in a hand-blown bottle produced by master glassmakers Brodie Nairn and Nichola Burns with a silver closure produced by the royal jewellers Hamilton and Inches.
Only 72 bottles have been produced of this extremely rare, aged whisky, which retails at £8,000.
