Buffalo Trace Distillery will be hosting it’s eleventh annual 5K charity race this coming Tuesday, American Independence Day.

The Great Buffalo Chase winds for 5 kilometres through the grounds of the historic distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and all money raised goes to help fund VFW Post 4075’s Annual Fourth of July fireworks that evening.

Cash prizes for the top three male and female runners are available, rising from $1500 in third place to $2500 in first for both genders.

The race begins at 8a.m. and the route remains the same as the past few years, starting on Distillery grounds and winding through historic aging warehouses, production facilities and lots of beautiful scenery before finishing up at the Visitor’s Center.

Registration begins at 7a.m. in front of the Buffalo Trace Distillery Visitor’s Center the day of the race. Registration is also online at www.buffalotracedistillery.com.
