The first graduates of a Government supported whisky training scheme for the hospitality sector have picked up their certificates.

Two women from Glasgow’s Radisson Blu hotel became the first graduates in Scotland of the Whisky Ambassador Programme earlier this month.

Helen Gallagher and Mirka Mikulcikova collected their new qualification having been graded on their knowledge of the different kinds of Scotch whisky.

The hotel’s human resources manager was wuoted by Scottish Licensed Trade News as saying: “To have the first Whisky Ambassadors in Scotland is an honour for the Radisson Blu.

“As a luxury venue in a major tourist destination, excellent customer service is crucial to us.”
