Buffalo Trace Distillery

Kentucky’s Buffalo Trace Distillery finished up a succcessful 2011 by picking up two Icons of Whisky Awards in December.

The Frankfort distiller was awarded the title of “American Whisky Brand Innovator of the Year” at Whisky Magazine’s American awards ceremony for its single oak project – their exploration on the effects of different recipes and cask grain on the flavour of bourbon.

In addition, Buffalo Trace’s Master Distiller Emeritus Elmer T. Lee was named “American Whisky Ambassador of the Year” at the ceremony in Louisville, reports kentucky.com.

Buffalo Trace will go up against the winners of these two categories from Europe and Asia in the World Whisky Awards in London in March.
